650B wheels aren't too big and they're not too small. They are just right. The Beasley 1/9 is built "just right" with a custom rigid crmo fork, Shimano XT Shadow rear derailleur, Shimano M485 disc brakes, and Pacenti Neo-Moto tires. One single gear up front and nine gears in the back put the wheels in motion.
Simple, simple, simple. Sure, we may have only equipped the Beasley SS with one single gear, but that's the only place we skimped. We started with a beautifully crafted crmo 650B frame and added a custom crmo fork, On-One Mary bars, Avid BB5 disc brakes and Pacenti Neo-Moto tires. Simply good.
If you like all the advantages of what big wheels have to offer, but don't like big wheeled bike geometry, the Beasley 650B series has your name written all over it. 650B wheels measure about 27.5"…which is halfway in between a 26" wheel and a 29" wheel. The main advantage of 650B wheels is that this "tweener" size can be used with 26" wheel frame geometry. The result is improved standover, better handling, and not being overwhelmed by that "big bike" feeling.
The Beasley 1/9 features a true 9-speed drivetrain with one single gear up front and nine in the back. This drivetrain set-up is idea for folks who love the simplicity of singlespeeds, but have to contend with steep hills. Suspension corrected geometry makes adding a suspension fork down the line possible.
